This program is unique because it utilizes proven strategies that do not rely on pharmaceuticals. Instead, veterans collaborate in groups to develop new practices that promote overall well-being, life satisfaction, improved relationships, and better connection with themselves. The program focuses on three main areas: 1) Drum Circle for fun, personal expression, and community-building. 2) Centering and Connecting exercises to anchor calm, focus, and deepen fellowship. 3) Personal Leadership to deepen self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-mastery.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve learned that a significant number of people, especially veterans, have experienced trauma. Carrying trauma can make it difficult for us to function in our daily lives. Veterans face additional challenges related to trauma from their experiences before their service. The Life Worth Living program is designed to address the various issues veterans face and offers strategies and practices to help them manage past trauma and thrive in the present.
